The Plaza Tire Capahas managed just three hits in a 10-0, seven-inning mercy-rule loss Thursday to the Waterloo Buds at Waterloo, Ill.
The Buds (17-1) scored two runs in the second, four in the third and four in the sixth to finish off the Capahas and even the season series. Plaza Tire defeated Waterloo 4-3 at Capaha Field earlier this year.
Jason Chavez took the loss after allowing 10 hits and eight runs in 6 2/3 innings. Chavez struck out five and walked three.
"They just simply outplayed us," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said. "They have an unbelievable ball club."
Plaza Tire (11-6) plays 7 p.m. tonight against the Riverdogs at Capaha Field.
