Cape Central's Amber Voerg hit a home run over the rightcenter field fence in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Lady Tigers to a 5-4 win over Jackson Wednesday.
It was the first of two home runs on the day for Voerg, who also homered the following game against Egyptian.
Jackson had tied the game in the top of the seventh.
Casi Gross picked up the win for Central (14-12), allowing 10 hits, while striking out three and walking none.
Beth Becker was the losing pitcher. She allowed five runs (two earned) on eight hits.
Central scored one in the second, one in the third, two in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Jackson (16-9) scored two in the second, one in the fifth and one in the seventh.
"They made some outstanding defensive plays," Jackson coach Becky Riney said. "We hit the ball hard, but they just made a few key plays and took advantage of our mistakes. We made some errors and lost some runners on the bases. We just didn't play heads-up ball today."
Central turned two double plays.
Central got six of its eight hits from three players. Voerg, Ashley Fouch and Eve Lungwitz each had two hits. Voerg and Fouch each homered.
For Jackson, Emily Sander was the only player with more than one hit. She went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Adam Obermiller scored a goal and added two assists as Notre Dame posted a blowout over Jackson.
Notre Dame improved to 11-2.
Chris Dirnberger scored the first goal off an Obermiller assist 10 minutes into the game, followed by a goal by Oliver Sanders on another Obermiller assist.
Obermiller capped off a brilliant first half by scoring on a pass from Tim Robert.
Midway through the second half, Timmy Wencewicz scored an unassisted goal to account for the final margin.
Notre Dame goalkeeper Michael Gosche recorded his sixth shutout of the season.
"It was a better game than (4-0)," Notre Dame coach Brad Wittenborn said. "I thought that we had less shots tonight than we've had in a long time, but the shots we had, we did a good job on. We had under a dozen shots tonight. When you get four goals on a dozen shots, you're pretty lucky.
"We have to go to their place next week and we're not four goals better than them and the guys better know that we're very fortunate to win by four goals. We better not go over there overconfident. I thought we deserved the shutout, but offensively, things just fell into place tonight."
"(Notre Dame) played really well," Jackson coach Bonnie Knowlan said. "In the first half they were all over us. They're a strong and fast team. They're bigger and older than us. At halftime we talked like we needed to step up more and the guys did. We held our own in the second half."
Jackson dropped to 7-6-2.
