A pair of Southeast Missouri State athletes earned weekly conference honors.
Senior thrower Kevin Farley was named the Ohio Valley Conference's male field Athlete of the Week while sophomore gymnast Ashley Thomas was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week.
Farley's throw of 68 feet, 5 inches in the weight throw set a school and meet record at the Eastern Illinois Early Bird on Dec. 5.
He won both the weight throw and the shot put with a toss of 57-11.
Both marks rank first in the OVC so far in the indoor track and field season. Southeast track and field returns to action on Saturday at the Illini Classic in Champaign, Illinois.
Thomas competed in the all-around for the first time as a Redhawk in Southeast's season-opening win against Illinois State on Sunday, and claimed the all-around title with a score of 38.925.
Thomas tied for first with a 9.800 in the floor exercise, which was the highest individual score at the meet.
The Redhawks gymnastics team travels to Ames, Iowa, on Sunday for a meet against Iowa State and Oregon State.
