Southeast Missouri State University's 10-game winning streak was put on hold Sunday as the Indians' scheduled home game against Tennessee Tech was rained out.
The Ohio Valley Conference contest will not be made up, as dictated by league regulations.
Sunday's game was supposed to begin at 1 p.m. Rain was still falling at that time and when it finally stopped, the field was prepped for a 2:15 p.m. start. But more heavy rain came just minutes prior to the scheduled first pitch and, with no letup in sight, the game was called.
"The forecast called for a good chance of rain the rest of the day, and Tech had a long trip back home," Southeast coach Mark Hogan said. "Really, the only thing to do was call it."
The Indians (13-8, 2-0 OVC) travel to Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday to play Lipscomb in a non-conference doubleheader.
Meanwhile, Southeast's softball team (7-18, 3-2) also had its scheduled OVC game at Austin Peay rained out Sunday. The Otahkians play at Eastern Illinois Wednesday.
