Troxel achieves two state cuts for Jackson at City of Roses girls swim meet

Jackson placed sixth with 153 points in the 15-team City of Roses girls swim meet Saturday at the Central Municipal pool.

The Indians' 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays both placed fifth.

Jackson's Kyleigh Troxel had a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle and a sixth-place finish in the 200 individual medley. Her times in both events bettered the state-qualifying mark.

Morgan Morris led Notre Dame's ninth-place finish.

Morris took second in the 50 freestyle in a state-qualifying time of 25.95 seconds, while also qualifying for state in the 500 freestyle with a third-place finish.

Host Central took 10th with 91 points.

The Tigers' Maddie Siefert took third in the 100 breaststroke.

St. Vincent was led by freshman Natalie King, who took second in the 100 backstroke with a state-qualifying time. She was 10th in the 200 individual medley.

St. Vincent placed 14th with 24 points.
