The second annual Tour de Girardot Cycling Classic was held Saturday and Sunday and prize money in excess of $5,000 was awarded to the field of 199 USCF-licensed racers. The second annual Tour de Girardot Cycling Classic was held Saturday and Sunday and prize money in excess of $5,000 was awarded to the field of 199 USCF-licensed racers.

The time trial and road race, 30 to 40 miles, were held on Saturday and the competition concluded with Sunday's criterium race, held on a .8-mile course at Doctors' Park.

With approximately 100 "citizen" racers, the participation was more than triple the size of last year's maiden event. The race attracted competitors from numerous states.

Locally, the top finisher was Bill Logan of Cape who finished fifth in the USCF Men 40+ category. He finished with a time of 2:03.49.
