The top seeds all advanced on Tuesday in the opening round of the Delta New Year's Girls Basketball Tournament at Delta High School.
Delta, the top seed, will play No. 4 St. Vincent at 7 tonight in a semifinal. Second-seeded Oran will play No. 3 Greenville at 8:30 p.m. in the other semifinal.
Delta held No. 8 Puxico scoreless in the second half en route to a 69-7 win in the opening round. Shea Smith led the Bobcats (7-1) with 23 points.
Oran outscored No. 7 Meadow Heights 33-6 in the opening half and won easily. Tiffany Glastetter scored 19 points for Oran.
Jessica Welker led St. Vincent with 13 points in a 53-47 win over No. 5 Chaffee.
Mindy Hendrix scored 24 points in a losing effort for Chaffee.
Tasha Lincoln led Woodland with 21 points but it was not enough in a 59-44 loss to Greenville.
