The top-seeded Jackson Indians opened the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament with a 71-6 rout of No. 16 Delta and improved to 6-0 on the season.

Junior Blake Reynolds led Jackson, which had 11 players score, with 19 points.

Calvin Lysell and Brandon Lueders also scored in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Senior point guard Josh Daume did not play. Daume last played in the SEMO Conference Tournament championship, when he suffered a concussion in the third quarter against Notre Dame.

Jackson coach Darrin Scott said Daume was cleared to resume practice on Monday and will likely play in the second round today.

Two-time defending champion and second seed Charleston began its title defense with a 99-21 win over the Cubs.

Delfincko Bogan led the Bluejays with 24 points while Jamael Nelson added 16.

Bell City was led in scoring by sophomore Kolten Siebert, who finished with nine points.
