The top two seeds for the Show Me Center Holiday Classic both crushed their first-round opponents Monday.

No. 1 Farmington beat No. 8 Saxony Lutheran 75-25 and No. 2 Jackson downed No. 7 Perryville 74-31 on the opening day of the 15th annual eight-team girls basketball tournament.

Farmington and Jackson advanced to tonight's semifinals, while Saxony Lutheran and Perryville fell into today's consolation semifinals.

Farmington 75, Saxony Lutheran 25

Farmington scored the first eight points and coasted. It was 43-12 at halftime and the entire fourth quarter was played with a running clock, used when a team leads by at least 30 points.

Senior guard Tayhlor Milfeld paced the Knightettes (5-1) with 22 points.

Senior guard Julia Steffens led the Crusaders (2-1) with 12 points.

Jackson 74, Perryville 31

Jackson broke a 2-2 tie with nine straight points and the Indians romped. They led 42-17 at the half and the entire final period was played with a running clock.

Junior center Connor King had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Indians (5-2).

Senior guards Makenzie Quade and Brooke Sanders followed with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Sanders had 13 first-quarter points.

Senior forward Natalie Bauwens had 14 points for the Pirates (2-3).
