Notes: Jackson is coming off an emotional win at favored Sikeston. The defense was the story for Jackson, allowing only 90 yards of offense to Sikeston. Defensive end Tyler McNeely had a disruptive night with a pair of sacks and a blocked punt. Jackson did not allow a first down in the first half and limited Sikeston to only 68 yards rushing on 36 carries. The Indians struggled running the ball with only 80 yards on 32 carries. Late in the game junior Austin Bock provided a spark with 17 yards and several key first downs to run the clock down. Senior quarterback Tyler Profilet had his moments passing, with several key third down completions. Jackson did have something go wrong in nearly every facet of its game though. The Indians botched a punt snap, turned the ball over three times and had an extra point blocked. Rockwood stayed with Parkway South much of the game, trailing only 13-7 going into the fourth quarter. Rockwood held Parkway South to 256 yards of total offense. Rockwood leads the all-time series 1-0.

Portageville (0-0) at Scott City (1-0)

Notes: Scott City gave new head coach Jackie Johnson an early lead in the opener and kept the chains moving in a 27-14 win. Jason Schenimann returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown for the Rams, who had a 100-yard passer and rusher in the game. Matt Schaefer rushed for over 100 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the offense. Quarterback Luke McClellan aired the ball out for 108 yards, a high number after playing in a ground-dominated system last season. Scott City surrendered over 200 yards rushing but only allowed Malden quarterback Jonathan Hefling to complete two passes. Portageville leads the all-time series 25-15.Corning (Ark.) (1-0) at Chaffee (0-1)

Notes: Chaffee's offense was mainly ineffective in its opener with quarterback Jeff Daugherty throwing for 85 yards on six completions and Nick Powderly leading the ground game with 38 yards rushing. Chaffee managed only three first downs and 145 yards of offense. The Red Devils will have to tighten up a rushing defense which allowed over 200 yards in the opener. Chaffee scored a season-high 25 points in the game last season, when Corning won the only meeting ever between the two schools.Park Hills Central (1-0) at St. Vincent (0-1)

Notes: After winning a squeaker over Priory last season the Indians got a dose of their own medicine in the opener. St. Vincent got off to a solid start with a Joey Guilliams touchdown run and a late Zach Moll field goal to take a 10-3 halftime lead. Priory scored on short touchdown runs in the third and fourth quarters to pick up the win. For Park Hills, Sam Lawson was the Rebels' top rusher in the opener, going for 81 yards on 20 carries. Quarterback Matt Martin was 5-for-7 for 54 yards passing and had 17 yards rushing. The Rebels only gained 231 yards in a defensive struggle. Berkeley scored 12 points in the third quarter to take a 12-10 lead before the Rebels came back with a touchdown in the fourth. After losing to St. Vincent nine straight times, Park Hills has shut out the Indians the past two seasons by a combined score of 53-0.Ste Genevieve (1-0) at Perryville (0-1)

Notes: Despite dropping its season opener, Perryville racked up more points in one game than it had through six games last season. The Pirates had only 14 points through six games last season and never scored more than 14 in a single game. Ste. Genevieve is coming off an impressive state playoff run last season and dominated Valle in its opener. Adam Schwent was a force on offense for the Dragons, rushing for 285 yard and four touchdowns. Schwent was pulled with seven minutes still remaining in the opener. Quarterback Patrick Odneal threw for 190 yards on 13-of-23 passing. The Dragons held Valle to 40 yards rushing.
