Central and Scott City posted consolation semifinal wins Tuesday at the Show Me Center Holiday Classic.

Fourth-seeded Central beat No. 8 Saxony Lutheran 55-42 and No. 6 Scott City downed No. 7 Perryville 43-30.

Central and Scott City will play at 5:30 p.m. today for fifth place, following a 4 p.m. seventh-place contest between Saxony and Perryville.

Central 55, Saxony Lutheran 42

Sophomore forward Chelsea Vinson poured in 26 points as Central bounced back from Monday's 28-point loss to Meadow Heights.

The Class 3 Crusaders led 13-11 after one quarter, were down 27-19 at the break and stayed within striking distance much of the way against the Class 5 Tigers.

Senior forward Chelsea Pannier added 17 points for Central (3-5).

Senior guard Abby Hartmann paced the Crusaders (2-2) with 12 points.

Scott City 43, Perryville 30

The Rams limited Perryville to five first-half points as they rebounded from their first loss of the season, Monday's 33-point setback to Notre Dame.

Scott City led 12-1 after one quarter and 16-5 at halftime. It was 27-22 entering the final period and the Pirates got within 31-27 before the Rams pulled away.

Junior forward Katie Hogan posted a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Rams (7-1). The 6-foot-2 Hogan, who hit four 3-pointers, also had six blocks and six steals.

Freshman guard Allison Moldenhauer led the Pirates (2-4) with 13 points.
