Gavillon Bland scored two second-half touchdowns to help host Sikeston pull away from playoff-bound Central 25-14 on Friday night.

The Bulldogs (2-8) beat the Tigers (4-6) for the second time in three years in the Week 10 battles that conclude the regular season and district play.

Central had clinched the Class 4 District 1 championship with its second straight win last week and Sikeston's loss to Poplar Bluff. The Tigers will play at Farmington (9-1) on Wednesday in the sectional round.

For Central on Friday, running back Hykeem Hammonds carried just once, receiver George Hamilton did not play and quarterback Blake Slattery came out of the game after the first half.

Derek Walker opened scoring for the Tigers with a 1-yard run early in the second period that concluded a 60-yard drive.

Sikeston responded with a 36-yard touchdown pass from Charlie Bohannon to Joey Williams, who started the 95-yard drive by intercepting a pass by Slattery.

Central's Kevin McNabb missed a 45-yard field goal attempt late in the first half.

Bland scored on 3- and 1-yard runs to put Sikeston ahead 19-7, then Jared Scott added a 1-yard run.

Chaffee 39, Portageville 0

Chaffee won a home game for the first time this season and completed the year with a 3-7 record for its first three-win season since 2000.

The program ended a streak of three straight winless seasons with a win at Grandview in the opener and also won at Rector, Ark., this season.

"It was a big win," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said Thursday night. "We needed to win a conference game, a district game. Our kids hadn't won a home game so it was a good win for us."

Dylan McAlister three touchdowns -- two rushing and one on an interception return of 64 yards.

Steven Atkinson, Andrew Hendrix and Chris Thomas each added touchdowns. Hendrix kicked three PATs.

Chaffee rushed 41 times for 290 yards, led by McAlister (six for 69), Atkinson (six for 58) and Hendrix (11 for 54).
