The Central boys basketball team hoped for a solid performance to warm up for Monday's Class 5 District 1 basketball tournament.

The Tigers were forced to settle for a lopsided defeat, falling at Dexter 71-43.

Central trailed by 10 at halftime, then the Bearcats pushed the lead to 25 entering the fourth quarter.

Anthony Watts led the Tigers with 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Central, which faces Fox in the first round of districts Monday, fell to 10-14.

Perryville (19-5), seeded fourth in the district, got 17 points from Ava Johnson and 12 from Nicole Gremaud.

Fredericktown is the district's third seed.
