Three Southeast Missouri State teams recognized for academic achievement

Three Southeast Missouri State athletic teams have been recognized with Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Achievement Awards.

Women's cross country, women's soccer and women's tennis all got nods for the honors, which are presented in each OVC-sponsored sport each year to the school with the highest percentage of student-athlete's who maintained a 3.25 GPA or higher.

The Redhawks cross country team featured 11 athletes who hit that mark (3.749 team GPA), women's soccer totaled 21 (3.63 team GPA) and women's tennis had six reach the benchmark (3.60 team GPA).

Jacksonville State had an OVC-best four teams claim the award, followed by Southeast. Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State and SIU Edwardsville each had a single team. In total, 10 different schools put a team on the list.
