A recap of Wednesday's action from the area diamonds.

The Plaza Tire Capahas got off to a hot start Wednesday but couldn't maintain the momentum on the road.

The Capahas scored once in the first inning, but the St. Louis Golden Spikes rallied to post the 6-2 victory.

Brad LaBruyere, a Central graduate who now pitches for Southeast Missouri State, suffered the loss. He went five innings and allowed two runs, one earned, while striking out five.

Kirk Boeller replaced LaBruyere and allowed two runs over two innings with two strikeouts.

Stan Skakalski finished the game by allowing two runs in one inning of work.

Sean Bard provided the offense for the Capahas. He knocked in both runs with singles and finished 2 for 4. Daryl Graham also had two of the Capahas' eight hits.

The Capahas fell to 7-3 and will return to action Friday when they host the St. Louis Printers at 7:30 p.m.
