OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- St. Vincent defeated host Oak Ridge 12-6 in the championship game of a four-team baseball tournament on Saturday.
Derek Kutz hurled the Indians to victory, allowing five hits in six innings. He struck out nine and walked three.
Beau Morrison suffered the loss for Oak Ridge (6-4), which had beaten Delta 16-2 earlier in the day to reach the title game.
Morrison did help his own cause against St. Vincent with a three-run homer in the first inning. He went 2-for-3 on the game with four RBIs.
Ryan Brown led St. Vincent (7-8) with a 3-for-5 performance with three RBIs.
St. Vincent led 4-3 after one inning and added three runs in the second for all the offense it would need.
St. Vincent defeated Meadow Heights 15-4 on Friday to reach the championship game.
In Oak Ridge's five-inning win over Delta, Zack Ruesler picked up the win, striking out eight, walking one and allowing five hits.
Josh Morrison went 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Clayton Ruesler ad Jeff Cowan had two hits apiece.
Meadow Heights won the third-place game 21-14 over Delta.

ST. LOUIS -- Cape Central improved to 12-0 in dual tennis matches with a decisive victory.
"We played well today," said Cape Central coach Bud Craven. "I hope we keep moving along."
The Tigers will try to conclude its dual season undefeated with four matches this week. Poplar Bluff opens the stretch by visiting on Monday.

KIRKWOOD, Mo. -- Heather Jenkins and Kim Pancoast grabbed first-place finishes for the Cape Central Lady Tigers at the 14-team Dale Collier Invitational at Kirkwood High School.
Jenkins won with a distance of 37 feet, 1 inch in the shot put, a competition that had to be held twice due to a controversy over shot weight inconsistencies. Jenkins had thrown 40 feet in the original competition.
Pancoast was just one second off the school record in winning the 1600 meters in 5:16.7.
Team scores were not kept in the competition.
In a nine-team meet held Friday at Poplar Bluff, Cape Central's boys finished second in the team competition. The Tigers finished with 109 points while Poplar Bluff won with 175.
Mark Stone turned in the lone Tiger victory, running 4:36.44 in the 1600.
