The St. Vincent volleyball team won its second straight district championship on Wednesday night, defeating Woodland 25-14, 25-20 in the Class 2 District 3 championship game at Clearwater High School in Piedmont, Mo.

St. Vincent will carry a 28-6-2 record into the sectional Saturday at Bloomfield, Mo.

"We're very excited and looking forward to playing on Saturday," Squaws coach Mary Rosenquist said.

St. Vincent will meet Crystal City (24-6), a fourth-place finisher in the state tournament last year, at 4:30 p.m. In the other sectional at 3 p.m., Scott City (23-4-4) will face Caruthersville (16-9-2).

The state quarterfinal contest is set for 6 p.m.

In Wednesday night's semifinals, St. Vincent beat West County 25-14, 25-15.
