St. Vincent shot five strokes better than Monday and secured a fourth-place finish Tuesday in the Class 1 state golf tournament at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Mo.
The Indians fired a 349 on Monday and came back to shoot a 344, ending with a 693 to beat Orrick by eight strokes.
St. Vincent finished just three shots behind third-place Marceline.
Tipton won the state meet with a final tally of 671.
Zach Richardet, who was one shot off the lead heading into the second day, finished with a 10-over-par 82, leaving him tied for fourth place with a score of 160. He finished just three shots off the leader.
Fellow senior Corey Brueckner shot an 84 to cap his state meet with a final of 165, which placed him in a tie for 11th place.
Lucas Schumer ended up in a tie for 45th after firing an 89, leaving him with a total of 179. David Rhoden finished in a tie for 76th. He shot a 89 and tallied a 190 for the meet. Jason Carron had a 196 total, after shooting a 96 in his final round. He finished tied for 92nd.
Saxony Lutheran's Clay Obergoenner carded a 96, ending with a 187 and in a tie for 64th. Teammate Tyler James shot a 90 Tuesday and placed 83rd with a total of 194.
In the Class 4 tournament at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa, Mo, T.J. Smith of Jackson improved his score with an 80, one shot better than Monday's total. He finished in a tie for 41st-place with a total of 161.
Also at that meet, Central golfer Tim Simmons ended with a 92 and a total of 177, which put him in a tie for 97. Central's Jordan Sheets tallied a final round score of 87. Sheets ended up in a tie for 108th with a two-day total of 181.
Poplar Bluff finished in second in the state with a total of 626, 11 shots off Springfield Glendale. The Mules have been in the state's top five for four straight years.
Brett Slaten finished with a 158, after shooting an 81 on his final round to lead Notre Dame's trio in the Class 3 tournament at Deer Lake Golf Course in Springfield, Mo.
Also for the Bulldogs, freshman Brandon Pleimann fired a final-round 79 to finish in a tie for 92nd place with a 165 total, and senior Austin Gelsheimer carded a 93 to finish with a total of 181, placing him 123rd.
