St. Vincent suffered a 43-14 loss Friday at Caruthersville in the season opener for both football teams.
C.J. Pavlovsky scored on a 3-yard scamper in the opening quarter for the Indians. He finished with 29 yards on 21 attempts.
St. Vincent's other score came in the third quarter when Cody Comte caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tim Schumer. Schumer was 8-of-19 passing for 62 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also ran for 18 yards on eight attempts.
Kicker Kyle Rollet hit both of his extra-point attempts for St. Vincent (0-1).
Malden 50, Scott City 14
In a rematch of last year's Class 2 regional playoff game, it was all Green Wave.
Scott City, under first-year coach Jim May, hosts Portageville in Week 2.
Pacific 28, Perryville 7
The Pirates opened the Keith Winkler era with a loss on the road.
Perryville host DeSoto in Week 2.
BOYS SOCCER Eagle Ridge 2, Mississippi Valley 1
The Eagles (2-0) were led with a strong performance by Roy Yoon, who scored once and added an assist.
Josh Carbaugh tallied the other goal in the win.
Ethan Grant recorded the win with two saves in goal.
VOLLEYBALL Eagle Ridge 25 25 Miss. Valley 12 11
Shelby Howell had 11 points for the Eagles, while Tylar Kennedy added five aces.
Lyndse Hamby had four kills and one dig. Heather Wiseman added eight aces.
Eagle Ridge improved to 2-1.
