PERRYVILLE -- Chris Foster scored 19 points as Arcadia Valley High's boys basketball team improved to 21-5 on the season with a 70-48 win over host St. Vincent Wednesday night.

Arcadia led 30-24 at halftime and widened its lead with a 19-7 third quarter.

Ryan Prost was the only Indian in double figures with 10 points.

Guy Barton added 15 points and Chris Robinson 14 for Arcadia.

"They're just a good ballclub," said St. Vincent coach Bruce Valleroy. "They've got some really good players."

St. Vincent, after playing its fourth game in five nights, dropped to 13-7 on the season. The Indians continue a grueling week schedule tonight by playing St. Genevieve. Then they will play again on Friday and Saturday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Perryville 72, Hillsboro 29

HILLSBORO -- Perryville wrapped up Jefferson County Conference play with a 9-0 record after clobbering Hillsboro.

Amy Verseman led the Lady Pirates with 18 points and was one of 13 players to score for Perryville (15-9).

Valle 58, St. Vincent 24

STE. GENEVIEVE -- Valle bolted to a 28-2 lead after one quarter and romped past visiting St. Vincent.

The Squaws, who fell to 4-17, got eight points from Jessica Lakenan.
