BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- The Ohio Valley Conference will move its basketball tournaments to Louisville, Ky., in 2002 rather than change the dates to stay in Nashville, Tenn., the league announced Monday.

The OVC traditionally holds its tournaments on the first weekend in March, and Nashville has hosted the league since 1994 and at the Gaylord Entertainment Center since 1997. ESPN is set to televise the men's title game for a 16th straight year.

But the Southeastern Conference will be holding its women's tournament at the arena Feb. 28 through March 3, which led to the change of sites for one year only.

Louisville, site of the first 11 OVC men's basketball tournaments, will host the tournaments March 1-3 at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

The women's semifinals will be played on March 1 followed by the championship on March 2. The men's semifinals will be played on March 2 with the title game set for March 3.
