BENTON, Mo. -- Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown, Mo., won for the first time Saturday in the sprint class at Auto Tire and Parts Racepark, denying Alex Shanks his first win in the process.

Montgomery passed leader Shanks three times early, but each was negated by caution flags. Montgomery made the final move around Shanks on the 15th lap.

Shawn King of Cape Girardeau finished second with Shanks third.

Greg King of Sikeston, Mo., led the Late Model field, leaving Henry Nash second and Mike Abney third.

Danny Sissom of Cape Girardeau won for the first time open-wheel modifieds, holding off challenges from Joe Geisler and Jeff Parmer, who finished second and third.

Billy Hopkins of Caruthersville, Mo., led Johnny Houart and Tony Summers in pure stocks.

Tim Griffin won the special event sanctioned by Southeast Missouri Dwarf Cars. Todd Williams was second and Dennis Martin third.
