BENTON, Mo. -- Joey Montgomery is 2-for-3 in visits to Auto Tire and Parts Racepark after he won Saturday's feature race for sprints.

Montgomery, who leads the season standings at the track near his home in Farmington, Mo., led all 25 laps of Saturday's event after he started on the pole. Caution flags kept the field bunched early, but Montgomery led the final 19 laps unchallanged.

Steve Short cut into Montgomery's lead late in the race and finished second. Jim Moughan was third.

Parity continued in the open-wheel modified division, where Robert Powers of Malden, Mo., became the eighth different winner in eight weeks of racing. Points leader Joe Geisler was second with Shawn Haynes third.

Jared Wagster of Portageville, Mo., won for the third time this season in the pure stock class. Cline Myers Jr. was second and Johnny Houart third.

John Griffin led a trio of Griffins in the dwarf division. Tim Griffin was second and Robert Griffin third.
