JACKSON, Mo. -- The Jackson American Legion Post #158 will host its fifth annual Memorial Weekend Junior Legion Tournament today through Sunday at Legion Field in the Jackson City Park.

The eight-team event will feature two pools of four teams each, with the pool winners meeting for the championship at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The tournament is being played in honor of Milton Nitsch, the American Legion Baseball Committee chairman who passed away this year.

Today's games feature Sikeston vs. De Soto at 6 p.m. and Jackson vs. Perryville at 8 p.m. Friday, Cape Girardeau plays Florissant at 8 p.m. and Brentwood faces Kirkwood at 10 p.m.

The first of four pool games Saturday will begin at 10 a.m., with the first of Sunday's four pool games beginning at 9 a.m.
