Kuper places 16th at state swimming meet
Notre Dame High School senior Lindsay Kuper finished 16th in the 100-yard freestyle (57.69) and 200 freestyle (2:04.06) Saturday at the State Swimming and Diving Championships in St. Peters, Mo.
Also Saturday, at the State Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City, Mo., Chaffee's Jennifer Vandeven was eighth in the 200-meter dash (28.01) to earn all-state honors.
Johnson medalist for Cape Chip-A-Ways
Dee Johnson was the medalist Tuesday at the Cape Girardeau Chip-A-Ways competition.
Carol Brown was first in 'A' Flight; Mari Davis and Caryn Michel tied for play of the day; and Linda Williams won low putts.

Serena Williams beat Justine Henin 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the final of the Italian Open.
Williams had lost to Henin last week in the final of the German Open.
