Capahas hold tryouts Friday and Sunday

The Craftsman Union Capahas summer baseball team of Cape Girardeau will hold tryouts at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Capaha Field.

Players must have expired their American Legion eligibility to be eligible.

Andre Agassi beat Tommy Haas 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 to win the Italian Open for the first time.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion used blistering groundstrokes and a fierce return game to frustrate the 24-year-old German. Agassi earned $372,000.

Soccer

The United States began its final run of World Cup warmups with a shaky 2-1 victory over Uruguay in Washington, D.C.

Tony Sanneh and DaMarcus Beasley scored first-half goals for the Americans, who won't have their full World Cup roster together until later this week.
