Missouri suspends three players for K-State game
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Three Missouri football players have been suspended for the Nov. 24 game at Kansas State, coach Gary Pinkel said Monday.
Junior defensive end Antwaun Bynum, senior punter Jared Gilpin and redshirt freshman punter Brock Harvey were suspended for violating team standards. Pinkel would not comment further on why he took the disciplinary action. A team spokesman did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
"For me, when you have to deal with discipline issues, you don't look at the impact it will have on the impact in a particular game," Pinkel said. "You do what's right."
Bynum, at 6-2, 235 pounds, is the starting defensive end for the Tigers.
Nebraska, Miami remain 1-2 in BCS poll

Blues recall Bergevin from Worcester
ST. LOUIS -- Marc Bergevin is officially back with the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues signed the 36-year-old defenseman as a free agent on Nov. 6 and sent him to Worcester of the American Hockey League for conditioning. He was called up Monday.
Bergevin was with St. Louis from 1996 until being traded last season to Pittsburgh. He played only two games with the Blues last season after breaking his hand in a training camp fight. For Pittsburgh, he had one goal, five assists and 26 penalty minutes in 36 games.
The Penguins did not re-sign him, and Bergevin has not played in the NHL this season.
Bergevin has 33 goals and 127 assists in 1,030 career games. The Blues wanted veteran depth with defenseman Rich Pilon out another two months with a broken wrist he suffered Oct. 25, and with the team scheduled to play 13 of 21 games on the road beginning Tuesday in Columbus.
Bills' Johnson suffers
broken collarbone
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Rob Johnson will miss 3-to-5 weeks with a broken collarbone.
Johnson was hurt during Sunday's 21-11 loss to New England. The Bills won't make any immediate moves to acquire a quarterback, coach Gregg Williams said Monday.
Johnson was not available for comment after flying home to California on Monday to attend his grandfather's funeral. Williams said he will discuss rehabilitation with Johnson once he returns.
The first part of rehab is rest to allow the fracture to heal, after which Johnson must work on strengthening his arm.
The Bills (1-7) are off to their worst start in 16 years.
"It's your starting quarterback -- I don't know how much more a significant injury it can be," Williams said.
Johnson was hurt when he landed on his throwing shoulder while being sacked by Patriots cornerback Terrell Buckley. It was the third time Johnson failed to finish a game this season, and the 11th time in 26 starts with the Bills.
Six-year veteran Alex Van Pelt will make his first start in four years next Sunday against Seattle.
Johnson's quarterback rating of 76.3 ranks eighth in the AFC.
