Showalter was treated at Rush University Medical Center, where he received an IV, the team said.
It was just the third time in his 11 years as a manager that Showalter missed a game. With Showalter out, bench coach Don Wakamatsu managed the Rangers.
Williams, playing in the CFL, was hurt during the first half of a 26-23 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday.
The injury happened when Williams reached out with his left hand to break his fall on the turf at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. He later returned to the sideline with his arm in a sling.
Under the deal between Toronto and Miami, the Argos are under no obligation to get the Dolphins' approval before sending Williams back on the field.
Through his first four games, Williams had been slow to adjust to three-down football. He entered Saturday's game with 53 carries for 214 yards and had four carries for 17 yards before the injury.
It was Blake's second career win over Roddick in eight tries. Roddick still hasn't won a tournament this year.
Roddick finished with 17 aces, but was consistently frustrated by Blake's foot speed. In the tiebreaker, Blake chased down one of many balls that appeared unreachable to go up 6-4. Roddick served an ace to make it 6-5, but Blake closed it out on the next point.
