Kiefner, Largent first in ladies day play
The team of Luanne Kiefner and Carol Largent placed first in the Cape Girardeau Country Club Ladies Day action this week. The play of the day was two-lady scramble.
Mary Ellen Bean and Priscilla Kirby placed second, and Bev Hahs and Kay Tolliver placed third.
The Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation will host its annual benefit tournament at the Cape Girardeau Country Club on Friday.
Tee times are 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. with lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The registration fee of $165 includes greens fees, cart, lunch, snacks and beverages, a quality golf shirt, mulligan and skins and a "Southeast shot." There will be cash prizes in each flight along with door prizes. For information or to enter, call 334-9254.
The Cape Girardeau Cal Ripken All-Star team lost 4-1 to Sikeston on Saturday in Kennett and settled for fourth in the state tourney.
