College baseball
* Derek Chambers went 4-for-5 with a triple, drove in three runs and scored two to help Missouri eliminate Harvard 14-6 in the Fullerton Regional of the NCAA baseball tournament.
Chambers extended his hitting streak to 12 games while Jacob Priday added three RBIs and Zane Taylor had three hits for the Tigers (40-22), who had 20 hits.
Right-hander Erick Dessau (5-1) allowed one earned run in five innings.
Matt Vance and Ian Wallace had three hits each for Harvard (29-17). Losing pitcher Frank Herrmann (5-2) allowed nine runs in 2 2-3 innings.
* Phil Napolitan, Danny Jackson, Matt Brown and Blake Hurlbutt had three hits each for Wichita State, which eliminated Austin Peay 5-1 (38-24) in the Knoxville (Tenn.) Regional.
Travis Banwart (8-1) went 7 1-3 innings and gave up five hits and one earned run for the victory for the Shockers (50-23). Noah Booth picked up his 10th save.
Shawn Kelley (7-4) took the loss for Austin Peay (38-24), allowing 14 hits and four earned runs in 6 2-3 innings.
College softball
* Allyson von Liechtenstein's bloop single to left field in the 12th inning Saturday helped Arizona eliminate California 3-2 at the Women's College World Series.
Kelly Anderson, who was taken out in the second inning and re-entered in the 11th, gave up back-to-back walks to Callista Balko and Crystal Farley to start the 12th before Von Liechtenstein singled for only her fourth RBI of the season.
Alicia Hollowell (31-8) pitched all 12 innings for the Wildcats, who have won six NCAA titles.
Arizona (45-11) played Texas (48-12) late Saturday evening.
Motorsports
* Martin Truex Jr. bided his time until the handling on Kevin Harvick's car went away, then passed him for the lead with 70 laps to go and eventually drove away to an easy victory in the NASCAR Busch series race Saturday at Dover International Speedway.
It was the second consecutive victory on The Monster Mile for the series champion, his third this year and ninth overall in Busch competition. After passing Harvick, Truex was out of the lead for only four more laps.
Soccer
* Landon Donovan, Brian McBride and Kasey Keller gave a rare pro-American soccer crowd a lot to cheer about.
Donovan regained his scoring touch with goals in the sixth and 62nd minutes, McBride added the final goal, and Keller came up with three huge saves to lead the United States over Costa Rica 3-0 in a World Cup qualifier Saturday night.
Heading into Wednesday night's qualifier at Panama, the United States (3-1) is second in the final round of the North and Central American and Caribbean region with nine points, one behind Mexico (3-0-1), which won 2-0 at Guatemala.
The top three nations qualify for next year's World Cup in Germany.
