Police said Thursday they are investigating another alleged sexual assault involving a University of Colorado football player, the sixth case to surface in the school's burgeoning athletics scandal. The news came hours after football coach Gary Barnett was placed on administrative leave for criticizing the athletic ability of former Colorado player Katie Hnida after she said she was raped by a teammate four years ago. He called her an "awful" player. Barnett, 57, will be on paid leave while an independent committee investigates the growing list of allegations involving the football program.

St. Bonaventure's men's basketball team was put on three years' probation and barred from the 2004 NCAA postseason for a player eligibility scandal.

Missouri has been trying to work out the details of a matchup in 2005 against Arkansas State at Arrowhead Stadium in what would be the Tigers' first visit to Kansas City since 1945. The Tigers -- a football program that dates to 1890 -- have never played at Arrowhead.

Basketball

Rasheed Wallace moved to the Detroit Pistons in a three-team trade after playing only one game for the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta acquired Wallace from Portland last week. In a deal put together shortly before Thursday's NBA trading deadline, the Pistons sent center Zeljko Rebraca, guard Bob Sura and a first-round draft pick to the Hawks. Detroit also sent guards Lindsey Hunter and Chucky Atkins and its first round pick this year to Boston, while the Celtics shipped Chris Mills to the Hawks. The Pistons received guard Mike James from the Celtics.

The Utah Jazz sent injured players Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten to the Phoenix Suns for forward Tom Gugliotta, cash and draft picks.

Football

Maurice Clarett announced he would skip today's workouts at the NFL scouting combine because he wanted more time to train after missing all of last season due to of a suspension. Scouts must now wait until April to see Clarett's audition, a decision that angered some of the NFL's top evaluators.

Golf

PGA champion Shaun Micheel holed a 30-foot eagle putt and a couple of other long birdie tries for a 7-under 64 and a share of the first-round lead Thursday in the Nissan Open. Micheel and Shigeki Maruyama, who played in the same group, had a one-shot lead over Hank Kuehne.

Hockey

The Philadelphia Flyers acquired center Alex Zhamnov from Chicago for center Colin Fraser, defenseman Jim Vandermeer and a second-round pick in the June draft.
