Brett Favre tossed three interceptions and lost a fumble, and the Lions relied on five field goals by Jason Hanson to stun the Packers 22-14. The Lions (4-8) surpassed their victory totals from each of the past two seasons and extended their home winning streak to three games. The Packers (6-6) dropped 1 1/2 games behind the Minnesota Vikings, who play at St. Louis on Sunday, in the NFC North. In Thursday's other game, Jay Fiedler threw for 239 yards in Miami's 40-21 defeat of Dallas.

Michael Vick will be in uniform for the first time this season Sunday, standing by as the Atlanta Falcons' backup quarterback at Houston. The Pro Bowl QB, sidelined since breaking his right leg in preseason, practiced for the second straight day on Thursday.

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is expected to play Sunday against New England after an MRI on his right elbow revealed no damage.

Quarterback Jeff Garcia will start for the San Francisco 49ers against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday after missing three games with a high ankle sprain.

Golf

Sophie Gustafson became the first woman to play on the Japan Golf Tour, shooting a 2-over-par 74 in the first round of the Casio World Open. The Swede, a four-time winner on the LPGA Tour, had two birdies and four bogeys on the Ibusuki Golf Club course.
