~ The Redhawks lost a road contest to Saint Louis University 3-1
The Southeast Missouri State soccer team lost 3-1 to Saint Louis University in its final exhibition game on Wednesday night in St. Louis.
The Billikens took 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of the game on a goal from forward Christina Rodriguez.
SLU took a 2-0 advantage into halftime after a goal by forward Kirsten Clemens in the 34th minute.
Midfielder Danielle Tolmais scored in the 63rd minute to extend SLU's lead to 3-0.
Sophomore forward Natasha Minor scored Southeast's lone goal of the game, and exhibition play, during the 69th minute. Junior defender Paige Luehmann was credited with the assist. The Redhawks fell to Liscomb 1-0 in its only other exhibition game Monday night.
Southeast had 11 shots and eight on goal in the loss to SLU.
Freshman goalkeeper Kindra Lierz had two saves.
The Redhawks, who were picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll, will face UT-Martin in a non-conference match to open its season on Aug. 24.
