Southeast Missouri State rallied for a victory but failed to finish off a sweep of Saturday's Ohio Valley Conference softball doubleheader.
The Redhawks won the opener 6-2 before host Tennessee Tech took the nightcap 6-1.
Southeast (13-19, 6-7) and Tech (13-19, 7-7) conclude their three-game series at 1 p.m. today in Cookeville, Tenn.
The Redhawks wiped out a 2-1 first-game deficit by scoring four fourth-inning runs. They had four hits in the frame, the big blow a two-RBI double by Taylor Cowan. Evan Sallis and Lindsey Patterson added RBI singles.
Cowan went 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Sallis and Patterson each added two of Southeast's nine hits.
Alora Marble (7-8) pitched all seven innings for the win. She allowed seven hits, struck out two and walked one.
Southeast had seven second-game hits. Xia Wilson went 3 for 3 and Sallis had two hits. Sallis drove in the Redhawks' only run in the fifth inning after they trailed 5-0.
Shea Cothren (3-7) took the loss in the circle, allowing three runs and six hits in 2 2/3 innings.
Tennis
Southeast notched its first OVC win of the season, rolling past host Tennessee State 7-0 Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.
The Redhawks (4-8, 1-3) lost just 10 games in winning all nine matches against the Tigers (0-5, 0-5).
Southeast plays another OVC road contest today at Jacksonville State.
