The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team rebounded from a loss in its conference home opener to down Tennessee State in five games Saturday.

The Redhawks dropped the first two games before rallying to win the final three against the Tigers.

Karleigh DeLong led Southeast with 25 kills and added 21 digs in the 21-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-19, 15-12 victory.

Emily Hughes put down 19 kills and added five block assists, while Paige Dossey pounded nine kills.

Kelly Benacka put up 59 assists while Molly Davis recorded a match-high 29 digs.

The Redhawks served seven aces in the match, with DeLong leading the way with two.

The victory came after Southeast dropped its Ohio Valley Conference home opener Friday night. Austin Peay downed the Redhawks 25-16, 25-23, 25-23.

DeLong led the Redhawks' attack with 13 kills while Dossey added seven and Hughes six.

Benacka put up 28 assists while Davis finished with 22 digs.

The Governors finished with a .221 attack percentage to .122 for the Redhawks.

Stephanie Champine led Austin Peay with 16 kills.

The Redhawks stand at 6-8 overall and 3-2 in the OVC. They return to action Friday when they travel to Eastern Kentucky to resume OVC play.

Women's soccer

The Redhawks couldn't stop Caryn Rosoff as they fell to Washington University in St. Louis on Friday.

Rosoff recorded the hat trick to help the Bears down Southeast 4-1.

Ashley Runion took a pass from Ali Bauer and found the back of the net late in the second half for the Redhawks' lone goal. Runion led Southeast with four shots on goal.

Southeast trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Kristen Starkey made three saves in goal for Southeast, which fell to 5-4 this season.

The Redhawks return to OVC play today when they host Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m.
