Southeast Missouri State baseball coach Mark Hogan announced three signings during the NCAA's early signing period.
The Redhawks landed high school senior Andrew Lack and junior college sophomores Mike Bibas and Hank Williams Jr. They will join the Redhawks for the 2012 season.
Lack is a 5-foot-10 shortstop and pitcher at Kennett High School who earned all-conference and all-district honors as a junior last year.
Lack batted .420 with seven doubles, one triple and two home runs. He went 5-1 with a 3.05 ERA in 36 2/3 innings on the mound. He struck out 31 and walked just four.
"Andrew has a tremendous upside and has great versatility," Hogan said in a release. "We expect him to be on the field early in his career and visualize using him both at shortstop and on the mound."
Bibas is a 6-6 pitcher at Meramec Community College in St. Louis. He went 4-4, striking out 28 in 26 innings as a freshman last year.
Bibas is a former standout at Vianney High School in St. Louis, where he played for current Southeast assistant coach Steve Bieser.
"Mike is a projectable weekend starter for us," Hogan said. "He is a tall, right-handed power pitcher who we believe could fit into our rotation as soon as he steps onto campus."
Williams is a 6-4 pitcher at Meramec Community College in St. Louis. He went 6-4, striking out 56 in 59 1/3 innings as a freshman last year.
Williams starred at Ft. Zumwalt South High School in St. Peters, Mo., where he went the distance in the Class 4 state championship game victory as a senior in 2009.
"Hank is another tall, right-handed power pitcher who we see as a weekend starter from Day 1," Hogan said. "He and Bibas have similar traits and we expect to have great things from him."
