The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders continued their winning ways with a 56-41 road win against the Chaffee Red Devils on Thursday, Feb. 8, in Chaffee, Mo.
John Hartmann led the Crusaders with a game-high 26 points. Luke Eggemeyer added 18 points, followed by eight from Owen Bucheit and four from Wesley Kienne.
Blake Yarbro led the Red Devils with 15 points through the first three quarters. Levi McKinnie added 14 points with four baskets from the three-point line.
Saxony Lutheran (16-8) hosts Oak Ridge on Friday, Feb. 9.
Chaffee (7-14) takes on Meadow Heights in Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 10.
__Girls: Portageville 76, Scott City 49__
Janiya Smith scored 23 points to lead the Portageville Bulldogs past the Scott City Rams 76-49 on Thursday, Feb. 8, in Scott City, Mo.
Taryn Irby added 14 points for the Bulldogs, followed by 12 each from Jayla Weddington and Laney Stone, and nine points from Aubrey Greenwell. The Bulldogs made four baskets from the three-point line and shot 12-of-16 from the free-throw line.
Lilyan Landis led the Rams with 15 points. Gracie Karrenbrock added 12 points, followed by 11 from Logan Schiwitz, eight points from Mackenzie Lawless, and three from Ramsy Spinks to round out the scoring. Scott City made two three-point baskets and shot 13-of-20 from the free-throw line.
Portageville (19-4) travels to Kelly on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Scott City (16-8) hosts Puxico in the final home game of the season on Monday, Feb. 12.
__Girls: Dexter 62, Cape Central 38__
Kate Nichols scored 29 points to lead the Dexter Bearcats past the Cape Central Tigers 62-38 on Thursday, Feb. 8, in Dexter, Mo.
Abbie Lloyd added 17 points for the Bearcats, followed by eight points from Allison Turnbo and two points from Karis Kennedy to round out the scoring.
Only three players scored for Cape Central. Emani Summers led the Tigers with 18 points, while Allie Cairns and Gracyn Morris scored 10 points each.
Dexter (11-10) hosts Poplar Bluff on Senior Night on Monday, Feb. 12.
Cape Central (8-13) will travel to Woodland on Monday, Feb. 12.
