Jackson basketball player Brooke Sanders is the Southeast Missourian Player of the Week.
Sanders has helped lead the Indians to four wins in their last four games, beginning with convincing 81-47 win over rival Central.
Sanders, a senior, finished with a game-high 22 points against the Tigers.
"Brooke got a lot of baseline drives and she can finish out of this world," Sander's Jackson teammate Dru Haertling told the Missourian. "I'm not even kidding. She's an awesome finisher."
Sanders also played a part in the Indians impressive defensive performance, which led to 24 points off 17 turnovers in the first half alone.
"We worked on a new defense where instead of just playing straight with our man, it's more of a run-and-jump and we trap and rotate, and I think that worked really well right from the beginning," Sanders said after the game.
Sanders again led Jackson in scoring in a rout of McCluer South-Berkeley at home Friday, scoring 18 points in that game before pouring in 19 more point in a 47-38 road win at Parkway South on Saturday.
She turned in one more double-digit performance in a 62-44 win over Sikeston on Monday and finished with 11 points.
