Jackson sophomore Blake Reynolds capped a productive week with a 25-point effort in the Indians' 71-58 win against Poplar Bluff on Saturday.

The 6-foot-7 center averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds in the Indians' 3-0 week, which included wins against rival Central and New Madrid County Central. Reynolds came into the week averaging around 10 points and seven rebounds.

"He's stepped up big all week for us," Jackson coach Darrin Scott said.

Reynolds had 11 points and 11 rebounds in Jackson's 57-43 win against Central on Tuesday. His first 3-pointer of the season at the first-half buzzer gave the Indians a seven-point lead at the break and a head of steam for the second half.

Reynolds scored the winning basket against New Madrid on Friday, breaking a 51-51 tie with 6.6 seconds left in the contest. The basket came off an offensive rebound -- his 15th rebound of the game -- and completed a 27-point night.

"He rebounds well for us," Scott said. "He's always catching the ball and finishing well around the basket. He's just real consistent, basically. You know what you're going to get from him most of the time."

The Indians were 16-9 and held a four-game winning streak at the end of the week. Reynolds had scored in double figures in all four wins.

"He's playing with a lot of confidence, and I think another thing is our guards are doing a good job of getting the ball to him," Scott said.
