Notre Dame fell to Hillsboro 71-68 in double-overtime on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Hillsboro, Mo.

Most of the scoring for Notre Dame was split between Brett Dohogne and Kolton Johnson. Dohogne led the Bulldogs with 28 points. Johnson added 20 points with three baskets from the three-point line and eight free throws.

Dohogne scored 13 points in the first quarter to help lead Notre Dame to a 19-8 first quarter lead. Hillsboro came back in the second quarter but the Bulldogs continued to lead 29-26 at halftime.

Johnson scored 11 points in the third quarter to push the Bulldogs’ lead back to double digits. The Bulldogs were held to only five points in the fourth quarter as they were outscored by Hillsboro 15-5 to force overtime.

After both teams scored nine points in the first overtime, Hillsboro found the free-throw line much more than Notre Dame and came out on top in the second overtime period.

Notre Dame (10-13) will host Poplar Bluff on Friday.

__Scott City 63, Malden 37__

In a battle of two 17-win teams, Scott City dominated Malden 63-37 on Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Malden, Mo.

Kobe Watson led the Rams with 17 points. Nathan Ham scored 12 points on four three-point baskets. Braeden Walton added 11 points to round out the double-figure scorers for Scott City.

Malden was led by Payton Woodard, who scored 12 points with three baskets from the three-point line.

Scott City's defense held Malden to below 10 points for each of the first two quarters, as the Rams went to halftime up 28-18. Scott City outscored Malden 35-21 in the second half to cruise toward victory.

Scott City (17-4) travels to Perryville on Friday.

__Marquand 79, Viburnum 22__

Marquand-Zion defeated winless Viburnum 79-22 on Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Marquand, Mo. The Tigers have won six games for the first time since finishing 15-11 in 2016. Marquand travels to Zalma on Thursday, Feb. 8. The Tigers have already defeated the Bulldogs twice this season.
