The Oak Ridge girls basketball team beat St. Vincent 48-35 on Wednesday, Feb 7, in Oak Ridge, Mo.
Reagan Howe led the Blue Jays with 23 points and 11 rebounds. MaKayla Rangel added seven points followed by five from Madyson Ruehling, four each from Hayley Hahs and Madalyn Schemel, and three points from Kinsley Bogenpohl.
The Blue Jays improved to a program-high 13-10 and have won four of their last five games.
“I continue to be extremely proud of this team,” Oak Ridge head coach Julie Ward said. “They continue to grow and improve and I am enjoying this season very much. We moved the ball well tonight and moved it up the floor. We were able to obtain a nice lead in the first half and we came out and played great defense throughout the entire game which was a huge advantage against a team like St. Vincent. They can flat out shoot the ball.”
The Blue Jays travel to Scott County Central on Saturday, Feb. 10, for their last road game of the season.
__Girls: Perryville 52, Meadow Heights 39__
The Perryville Pirates beat Meadow Heights 52-39 on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Perryville, Mo.
The Pirates were led by Brooklyn Moll, who scored 22 points, and Aby Amberger, who added 17 points.
The Pirates have improve to 15-6 on the season after winning three straight and six of their last seven games.
Perryville travels to Grandview on Thursday, Feb. 8.
__Boys: St. Vincent 56, Oran 41__
The St. Vincent Indians defeated the Oran Eagles 56-41 on Wednesday, Feb. 7 in Perryville, Mo. The Indians snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 12-10 on the season. St. Vincent travels to Grandview on Friday, Feb. 9.
