Senior guard Juwan Owens scored a game-high 27 points to help lead the Scott County Central boys basketball team to a 69-39 win over Meadville in the Class 1 state championship game at Mizzou Arena.

Owens entered the state playoffs third on the team in scoring at 11.8 points per game and shooting 31.1 percent from 3-point range. In his final high school basketball game, Owens scored more than 15 points over his season average and connected on 5 of 7 3-point attempts (.714 percent). He scored 21 of his points after halftime.

The state title was the 17th for the SCC boys basketball program.
