Senior Jacob Priggel scored 28 points to lead the Oran Eagles to a 61-58 win over the Woodland Cardinals on Friday at Oran High School.
Priggel scored eight of his points in the fourth quarter as the Eagles erased a seven-point halftime deficit to come away with the victory. Priggel was a perfect 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the final period.
"He does a good job of rebounding and playing hard," Oran coach Joe Shoemaker said of Priggel. "He's starting to develop into the leader we need. Our seniors struggle with a little bit of that early and they're starting to do it at both ends, playing with intensity and energy."
The Eagles are off to an 8-5 start, including a consolation championship victory over Bell City at the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament last week.
