Jackson's Sierra Maddox closed out a perfect senior season by successfully defending her pole vault title at the Missouri Class 4 track and field championships in Jefferson City.
Maddox attained the same height as her junior year at the state meet, clearing 12 feet, 6 inches at Dwight T. Reed Stadium on the campus of Lincoln University. Maddox finished first in every meet she participated in this season, which included gold at the SEMO Conference North meet as well as at the district and sectional meets, extending her school record to 12-9 in the process.
She finished her career as a four-time SEMO Conference North champion in the event, and a two-time champion on the district, sectional and state levels.
