Jarrett Reisenbichler led the Jackson contingent at the state wrestling meet by finishing fourth at 106 pounds in Class 4. He was the top finisher from the area.
Reisenbichler earned a victory in his first match in Columbia. He defeated Francis Howell North's Brendan Hachtel 13-5, but then fell to Nixa's Joe Velliquette 7-4 in the quarterfinals.
The Jackson freshman rebounded by knocking off Liberty's Cannon Trester 10-3 before beating Holt's Justin Scott 3-1.
Reisenbichler, who won the SEMO Conference title last month, beat Ozark senior J.J. Dorrell 5-4 to earn a spot in the third-place match.
But Park Hill's Ke-Shawn Hayes pinned Reisenbichler in 4 minutes, 26 seconds.
Reisenbichler, who also captured the title at the Tiger Classic in December, finished his freshman campaign with a 52-7 record.
