Southeast Missouri State's Trenton Moses earns All-American honor

Former Southeast Missouri State third baseman Trenton Moses garnered another All-American honor Wednesday.

The Advance High School graduate was named a second-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Moses previously had been named a second-team Louisville Slugger All-American by College Baseball newspaper.

Moses was the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference player of the year. He became just the third player in OVC history to win that honor in multiple seasons after also capturing the 2011 award.

Moses led the OVC in batting average (.408), home runs (19), on-base percentage (.531) and slugging percentage (.761) this year. He also led the nation in both slugging and on-base percentage.

Moses was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 26th round of last week's Major League Baseball amateur draft. He was assigned to the Danville Braves, an Advanced Rookie-level team in the Appalachian League.
