Southeast Missouri State senior first baseman Matt Tellor was named the co-Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week after belting two home runs and driving in seven runs last week for the first-place Redhawks.
Tellor hit a pair of sacrifice flies in a nonconference win over Saint Louis University, then blasted a home run in back-to-back wins against Eastern Illinois over the weekend. He was 7 for 11 for the week and scored seven runs.
Tellor is tied for second in the OVC in both home runs (11) and RBIs (48), while ranking sixth in batting (.361). He leads the league in sacrifice flies (eight), is second in slugging percentage (.652) and fourth in runs (43).
Southeast, which is 27-12 overall and 17-4 in OVC play, will visit SIU Carbondale for a 5 p.m. nonconference game today.
