Southeast Missouri State defensive tackle Austin Black was named to the first team Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-American Team on Thursday.
He was one of five Ohio Valley Conference players named and was joined on the first team by Eastern Illinois offensive lineman Jimmy Lowery.
Black had 52 tackles and led the Redhawks with 4.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.
Black also was named to the College Sports Journal FCS All-Freshman Team on Jan. 17. He earned first-team defense honors.
