The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team sits in eighth place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings following a Tuesday night sweep of UT-Martin.

The Redhawks won 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 in their final home game and eliminated the Skyhawks (11-18, 4-11 OVC) from a spot in the conference tournament.

The top 8 teams will compete in the OVC tournament, which begins November 20.

The opening set was tied 10 times and had eight lead changes.

Southeast broke a 16-16 tie with a kill by freshman Nzingha Clarke and led the rest of the way.

The Redhawks closed out the set on a 9-2 run that ended with a block by sophomore Madalyn Werths and junior Taylor Masterson.

Neither team led by more than three points in the second set until Southeast took a 16-12 lead on a kill by senior Kelsey Keeve and UTM never came any closer.

The Redhawks never trailed in the final set to complete the sweep of the Skyhawks.

Masterson finished with 12 kills and hit .550 in the match. Clarke had eight kills and hit .500.

Freshman Carlie Cuffle led the team with 12 digs while senior Andrea Baylin added nine.

The Redhawks close out the regular season at Jacksonville State on Saturday.
