The Southeast Missouri State tennis team's five-match winning streak and undefeated Ohio Valley Conference record came to an end Sunday.
The Redhawks (9-6, 3-1 OVC) suffered a 7-0 shutout at the hands of Eastern Kentucky (8-7, 5-0 OVC) at the Redhawks Tennis Complex.
Southeast didn't win a set during singles play.
Valeriia Kashina lost 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match, while Valeriia Nagovitcina was defeated 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot.
Ekaterina Donetckova lost 6-4, 6-2 and Heather Robinson lost 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively.
In the No. 5 match, Annisa Warasanti lost 6-1, 6-2. Melissa Martin was defeated 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 6 match.
The Redhawks lost 8-5 in No. 1 doubles and 8-3 in No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 doubles match went unfinished.
Southeast faces UT Martin at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Martin, Tenn.
The Southeast softball team slipped to 1-3 in the OVC after being swept in a doubleheader against Morehead State on Sunday.
The Eagles (6-15, 3-3 OVC) posted 7-6 and 7-4 wins over the Redhawks in Morehead, Ky.
Southeast scored three runs in the top of the first inning on an RBI single from shortstop Leah Duffe and a two-RBI double by Rachael Duncan.
Morehead narrowed the lead in the bottom of the inning. Southeast starting pitcher Keaira Schilling walked two batters, and a two-out single drove in the Eagles' first run.
The Redhawks made it 4-1 in the second on a sacrifice fly by Savannah Carpenter that scored Kelsey Gass.
In the bottom of the second, Morehead cut it to 4-3 on a bases-loaded, two-out single by Dana Hutchins.
The Eagles took the lead for good in a four-run third on five hits and a Southeast fielding error.
Schilling (2-6) was tabbed with the loss. She allowed six earned runs on seven hits over 2 1/3 innings. She had two strikeouts, two walks and hit one batter.
Aubrey Denno allowed an earned run on three hits over 2/3 innings, while Hannah Durham pitched three scoreless innings, striking out two and walking two.
Morehead's Tanna Seuferer (2-6) was the winning pitcher and Kelcey McMurray picked up the save.
In the second game, Southeast third baseman Haylee Krack hit a two-out homer to center field in the first inning for a 1-0 lead.
Morehead's Tressa Watson answered with a leadoff home run in the second. The Eagles plated two more runs in the inning for a 3-1 lead.
The Redhawks regained the lead 4-3 in the third on a two-run shot by Carpenter and a bases loaded walk.
Morehead third baseman Katie Raile tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the inning with a two-out RBI double.
Errors proved costly for Southeast, as the Eagles' final three runs were unearned. A fielding error in the fourth led to one run, and two more runs scored in the fifth on a throwing error.
Durham (2-5) took the loss, allowing two earned runs on five hits over 3 2/3 innings. She struck out two, walked one and hit one batter.
Schilling pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief, allowing two earned runs on six hits. She had one strikeout, one walk and one wild pitch.
Morehead's Megan Tymorek (4-8) pitched a complete game for the win. She allowed four earned runs on seven hits.
Southeast (6-16) hosts Austin Peay in a three-game series starting with a doubleheader Saturday.
